PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from spiderclothing-us.com (the “Site”).
Spider Clothing US is an independent online retailer offering streetwear-inspired products.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Every time you land on the Site, some details about your device get picked up automatically: your web browser, your IP address, your time zone, and certain cookies sitting on your device. While you click around, we also log which pages or products you look at, which websites or search terms sent you our way, and the way you engage with the Site. In this policy, all of that automatically gathered data goes by the name “Device Information”.
Device Information comes to us through these technologies:
– “Cookies” are small data files stored on your device or computer, and they often carry an anonymous unique identifier. To learn more about cookies and how to switch them off, head to http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
– “Log files” record what happens on the Site and gather data like browser type, your Internet service provider, your IP address, date/time stamps, and referring/exit pages.
– “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels”: electronic files that keep a record of the way you browse the Site.
On top of that, any time you buy something on the Site, or try to, we ask you for some details: your name, your billing and shipping addresses, your payment information (credit card numbers included), your email address, and your phone number. In this policy, we call that bundle “Order Information”.
Any time this Privacy Policy mentions “Personal Information”, it means Device Information and Order Information together.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
For the most part, Order Information is what lets us fill the orders you place on the Site: we process your payment information, set up shipping, and send you invoices and/or order confirmations. We also put Order Information to work to:
– Talk with you;
– Check our orders for possible risk or fraud; and
– Send you information or ads about our products or services, when that matches the preferences you have given us.
Device Information, and your IP address above all, helps us spot possible risk and fraud. More broadly, it helps us make the Site better and run it more efficiently, for instance by building analytics on how shoppers move through and use the Site, and by measuring how well our marketing and advertising campaigns perform.
SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
To put your Personal Information to work in the ways listed above, we pass it along to outside partners who assist us. One of those partners is Google Analytics, which shows us how shoppers move around and interact with the Site. Google explains its own handling of Personal Information at https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. Want out of Google Analytics? Google lets you turn it off at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Last but not least, we may disclose your Personal Information to follow applicable laws and regulations, to answer a subpoena, a search warrant or any other lawful request for information that comes our way, or to protect our rights in some other way.
BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING
As mentioned earlier, your Personal Information helps us show you targeted ads or marketing messages that we think you may find interesting. Curious how targeted advertising actually works? The Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational page explains it: http://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.
Prefer not to get ads aimed at you? Here is where to switch them off on each platform:
– Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
– Google: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/anonymous
– Bing: https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/policies/personalized-ads
The Digital Advertising Alliance also runs an opt-out portal where you can turn off some of these services: http://optout.aboutads.info/.
DO NOT TRACK
Heads up: if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, our Site keeps collecting and using data exactly the same way it always does.
YOUR RIGHTS
Are you a European resident? Then you have a right to access the personal information we hold on you and to ask us to correct, update, or delete it. To exercise this right, get in touch using the contact details listed below.
For European residents, one more point: we process your information to carry out contracts we may have with you (say, when you order through the Site) or else to pursue the legitimate business interests listed above. Also, your information will be moved outside Europe, with Canada and the United States among the destinations.
DATA RETENTION
Once you order through the Site, your Order Information stays in our records. It remains there unless and until you request that we delete it.
CHANGES
We may revise this privacy policy now and then, for example to reflect changes in our practices, or because of other reasons that are operational, legal or regulatory.
